Thanks for your comment, Brent! I like your idea of searching the web via direct messages with your cell phone instead of Rogers. Brilliant! I don't know how many times I was stuck in the same situation. Never thought of asking my twitter peeps.

Hi Daniele:

Yes, my favourite use of Twitter is staying connected with people I have met at various conferences, unconferences, and meetups. Quite often we meet and hit it off with people at these events, but quickly forget them when we get home. I like that Twitter allows me to stay connected to them and create a more solid relationship.

Cheers,
Connie

I started using Twitter after Podcamp Toronto last year too and I think you and I have probably had very similar experience over the past year with it.

Very few of my offline friends use Twitter despite me raving about it for the past year. I repeatedly say that it's my favorite part of the internet.

Things that twitter did for me in 2007:
- Get me a great freelancer on short notice
- Help me answer bizarre about problems with web development work not suited to Google
- Helped me search the web via direct msgs with my mobile phone without having to pay insane Rogers data rates
- a few impromptu summer patio "tweet-ups" (meet ups)
- kept me in touch with ppl I probably wouldn't email or call because I'm terrible at it
